The Corte San Benedetto winery is located in Arbizzano di Negrar inside the ancient rural court from which it took its name. The Lavarini family has been cultivating the land for three generations making a good wine.
The activity began in the Second World War by grandpa Angelo in a small town located in the hills of Marano di Valpolicella called “Camporal”.
Grandchildren Angelo and Loris currently run the winery with the help of their wise father Mariano, cultivate and make wine themselves using their own grapes. Loris, with a degree in enology, works in the cellar and is responsible for winemaking. Angelo takes care of the accounts and customer relations, while Mariano, with the strength of his experience ripened throughout the years, follows the cultivation of the vineyard in all stages of production, from pruning to harvesting the grapes.
About 12 hectares of vineyards are cultivated and they are spread out in four municipalities: Negrar, Marano di Valpolicella, San Pietro in Cariano and Verona. The cellar and all the areas for winemaking, storage and drying the grapes are found in the town of Arbizzano in the municipality of Negrar, the heart of Valpolicella.
A new store with an attached area for tastings and receiving customers at “Corte San Benedetto” is currently under construction and expected to be completed at the beginning of 2008. It is an ancient stable dating back to ‘800, erected in honor of Saint Benedict and located near the actual cellar.
